FAQ

Why would I build a metal building, aren't they ugly?

Metal building, unfortunately have a reputation for not being very aesthetically pleasing. I fact, that reputation is not deserved. A good builder can finish the exterior with brick, stone, stucco and other materials to give the building any appearance desired. Please view our gallery to view examples.

What is the advantage to metal buildings?

The short version is that we really hear two answers to this question from our clients. First, out client love the wide open spaces provided by pre-engineered metal buildings. Metal buildings can be engineered with much larger wide open areas than other techniques. This allows the metal building owner to arrange offices or warehouse areas in any format desired. Secondly, pre-engineered metal buildings tend to be cheaper. Computer driven metal component manufacturing has reduced the cost of metal components to the point that pre-engineered metal buildings are nearly always less expensive to build, whatever your need.

Can metal buildings be used as homes?

Yes. We build a half dozen or so homes every year. The real advantage of prefabricated metal buildings for a home owner is the wide open interior. You can put your walls literally anywhere that you want them. Modern metal fabrication techniques allow far more architectural options than most people would imagine.

Are metal buildings termite proof?

Unfortunately one myth about metal buildings is that they are "termite proof". There simply is no such thing as "termite proof". Sheetrock and wood trim and bracing are potential food sources for termites. For more information, we recommend that you visit the Texas A&M site.

How much time will it take to build my new pre-engineered metal building?

In general, metal buildings can be built in a fairly timely manner. It is not uncommon to be finished with a complex building in five months. The longest delay usually comes before the physical construction process. Engineering and permitting can take two to seven months depending on complexity and the municipal requirements. Once we have approved, permitted drawings, we will order the metal components and must usually wait four to six weeks for delivery.

Professional appearance is important to me, can you meet my needs?

Absolutely. We have built doctor's offices and multi-story Class C office structures. We can finish the exterior of your metal building to give it the modern, professional appearance that you are looking for.

In the end, we want you to be happy and confident in your new metal building. We stand behind our work, because it is the right thing to do.

I am not sure what I need. Can you help me design the project?

Our organization is on a limited budget. What can you do for me?

One of the primary advantages of pre-engineered metal buildings is the flexibility offered. Within reason, we can plan for future expansion outside of the current project or changes within the foot print of the current project.

Do you offer financing?

We have relationships with three local banks that understand the needs of small, medium and large businesses. The loan officers at Regions Bank, Independence Bank and Ironstone Bank have worked with and satisfied the needs of our clients. If you already have a well established relationship with a bank, we will be happy to work with them to complete the project.

How do I pay for my new building?

We will establish a draw schedule when we finalize the proposal and contract. A draw schedules provides payment by steps as we complete phases. Smaller jobs generally have a 10% down payment and 3 to 7 draws at the completion of various phases. Larger projects could have as many as 30 draws but more commonly will use an AIA progression of values.
